Zhirong Ge, Counsellor of the State Council of China Visited Office of AOAC China Section

 

      Mr. Zhi-Rong Ge, Counsellor of the State Council of China, Former Vice Minister of General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine of China (AQSIQ), President of China Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine Association has visited Office of AOAC China, accompanied by Yong Shi, Deputy General Director of SDCIQ in Jun.3, 2011.

      Mr. Ge has put a premium on the work of AOAC China Section after hearing the presentation given by Dr. Lei Bao, President of AOAC China, Director of Mycotoxins and Biotoxins Reference laboratory of AQSIQ.  He said that AOAC has been well-known for providing the “Golden Standard” of methods accepted and recognized by regulatory agencies and organizations worldwide; He encouraged Chinese scientists to participate in AOAC activities and get the latest information and knowledge of analytical technique and methods.  He said, AOAC is a very valuable tool to improve ability of food safety analysis and also harmonize the international trade based on scientific solutions.

      Mr. Ge graduated from Peking University. He has studied in University of Newcastle in UK, and got Master’s Degree in the major of Quality Engineer. He once worked in SDCIQ as an analytical scientist, then promoted to Director, General Director of SDCIQ, and then promoted as the Vice Minister of AQSIQ.  Now he is the Counsellor of the State Council of China and President of China Entry-Exit Inspection & Quarantine Association.
